New Mexico Data Chat Posters

Created as part of my work with the UCLA Center for Healthier Children, Families & Communities · 2024

Data Visualization + Story Telling · Community Engagement + Facilitation

Data Chats are casual, yet structured, gatherings where folks from across communities (e.g., parents, families, local leaders, and other community members) come together, explore early childhood data, reflect upon what it shows, what it might mean, and how it connects to their personal, lived experience. Together, they use stories and numbers to identify the things in our communities that most matter to us and work together to identify potential ideas for action so that our communities are a better place for children to grow and thrive.

Created as part of my work leading the Accelerator in New Mexico, I was responsible for designing posters that would be used in a 4-hour long facilitated discussions with coalition members, government officials, and philanthropic partners. These posters combined spatial data, population-based measures, and data analyses.

In October 2024, we produced 15 sets of 4 ft x 6 ft posters and used them to facilitate discussions with 70+ participants in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
